Pets

Many people consider pets as part of their families and grieve deeply when they suffer the loss of them. Sometimes a pet captures your heart or you have such a special connection that you are not merely pet and owner, but friends or even soul mates.

When a pet dies, its spirit continues on just as ours do. Animals do indeed possess souls and they can remain around us after they pass from this plane, watching over their loved ones, and waiting for us on the other side.

Like spirits of people that come through, they may just want to say hello, let us know they are still with us, help us, or give us specific messages.

Brenna

When my children were young, we decided to add a dog to our family. I had grown up with German Shepherds and thought their traits of protectiveness and loyalty combined with gentleness made them great companions for kids.

The kennel we drove to was in the middle of nowhere. Though the house the breeder lived in was small and a bit unkempt, the kennels were spacious, meticulously maintained, and scrupulously clean. When we lost her, we cried oceans of tears; not for her, for we were glad she was no longer in pain and suffering, but for us, struggling to come to terms with the fact that she was gone. Her loss was something that still hasn’t, and maybe won’t ever be, reconciled completely. My daughter, now a teenager, was particularly affected by her passing and missed her desperately. She had, after all, been her close companion for nearly all her life. Three of her friends wanted to try a table tipping. Though my daughter has never been enamored of the idea, she agreed to participate with them.

Sure enough, the table tapped for her and spelled out “Brenna.” She had come through to say hi and let her know that she was still around, loving and watching over her just as she did in life. What a beautiful thing to know.

At another session, a horse that one of the participants used to ride came through to say hello. What was so fascinating to us was that the whole feeling of the table changed, and it
